Slow Application Startup

In some cases (e.g. MuleSoft v3.9) server startup might take a while (anywhere from a few minutes to a few 10’s of minutes).

The underlying reason is that these servers generate lot of code for instrumentation during startup. Since OverOps tries to analyse this, it takes time.

The simple solution is for OverOps to ignore this during startup e.g. wait for 10 minutes until the server starts up.

There are a couple of parameters for achieving this

Linux agent:

takipi.disable.exception.handling.time=600000

This property disables exception monitoring at an agent level. e.g. The above property disables this for 10 minutes.

If the above doesn't work, we could try disabling exceptions at the JVM level.

takipi.boot.time=600000

AIX agent:

This is not an issue with an AIX agent
