Best-Practice - Data Retention Policies (On-Premises backend only) Follow

What is it?

With the OverOps on-premise installation, all the storage of snapshots are stored within the customers environment.

Why Use it?

Using a data retention policy will prevent out of disk issues when available disk space is limited. This will also ensure optimal performance when decoding snapshot data within the OverOps UI as the collected data grows.

How to enable?

Pros

  • Optimal configuration that will ensure long term performance of OverOps and reduce the risk of out of disk errors for systems with limited disk availability
  • High level metrics are still retained

Cons

  • Snapshot data before the configured Retention period will not be available once it deleted

Hybrid-Storage

Please note that Hybrid storage is not related to On-Premises backend data retention policy. Please follow this link for hybrid data-storage cleanup policy.
