Connect to WebSphere

 

WebSphere 7.x and 8.x

  • In the admin console of each WebSphere node go to Servers > Server Types > WebSphere application servers.
  • For each Server Infrastructure, go to Java and Process Management > Process Definition.
  • Under the Additional Properties section, click Java Virtual Machine.
  • Add the OverOps agent argument:
    -agentlib:TakipiAgent
  • Click OK.
  • Restart the application.
  • Test the installation - head back to app.overops.com and click
    If the connecting process was successful, you will get a "Monitoring" message next to your JVM.
  • Throw an exception, or make sure your application throws exceptions.

 

WebSphere 6.x

  • In the WebSphere admin console, go to Servers > Application servers.
  • For each server, in the Configuration tab, click Java and Process Management.
  • In the Generic JVM arguments field enter the OverOps agent argument -agentlib:TakipiAgent
  • Click OK.
  • Restart the application.
  • Test the installation - head back to app.overops.com and click
    If the connecting process was successful, you will get a "Monitoring" message next to your JVM.
  • Throw an exception, or make sure your application throws exceptions.

 

WebSphere 5.x

  • In the WebSphere admin console, click Servers > Application Servers.
  • For each Server, under Additional Properties, click Process Definition > Java Virtual Machine.
  • Add the OverOps agent argument -agentlib:TakipiAgent
  • Click OK.
  • Restart the application.
  • Test the installation - head back to app.overops.com and click
    If the connecting process was successful, you will get a "Monitoring" message next to your JVM.
  • Throw an exception, or make sure your application throws exceptions.
