After installing OverOps, connect it to your WebLogic server. Choose the relevant WebLogic launch configuration:

Standalone WebLogic

Clustered WebLogic Servers

 

Standalone WebLogic

Linux/macOS

To connect OverOps to a Standalone WebLogic Server:

  1. From <weblogic_<version#>_install_dir>/user_projects/domains/<domain_name>/bin/startWebLogic.sh., edit startWebLogic.sh  
  2. At the beginning of your application server start script, add agentlib:TakipiAgent 
    Note: This argument must be at the beginning of the arguments list before including any other agents.
  3. Restart WebLogic.
  4. Test the installation: From the OverOps web application dashboard, click Add Server. From the dialog box, click Next and then click Test Installation.

    When the connection is established, the JVM status is 'Monitoring'.
  5. Test that your application throws exceptions.

Windows:

  1. From <weblogic_version_install_dir>\user_projects\domains\<domain_name>\bin, open the startWebLogic.cmd file.
  2. In the application server start script, add -agentlib:TakipiAgent

  3. Restart WebLogic.
  4. Test the installation: From the OverOps web application dashboard, click Add Server. From the dialog box, click Next and then click Test Installation.

Clustered WebLogic Servers

For clustered WebLogic servers you start and stop using Node Manager, configure server startup in the WebLogic Server Administration Console.

To connect OverOps to a WebLogic Server Cluster:

  1. Open the WebLogic Server Administration Console.
  2. Navigate to Environment > Servers and click your server in the Server List.
  3. From the Server Start tab, add -agentlib:TakipiAgent
    Note: This argument must be at the beginning of the arguments list before including any other agents.
  4. Restart your machine.
  5. Test the installation: From the OverOps web application dashboard, click Add Server. From the dialog box, click Next and then click Test Installation.

    When the connection is established, the JVM status is 'Monitoring'.
  6. Test that your application throws exceptions.
