The OverOps Agent runs on the JVM. You can launch the JVM with OverOps, using various launchers. When launching the JVM with NetBeans, follow the instructions of the relevant debug configuration:
 
 

Java/Scala Application

  1. From NetBeans, click File and select Project Properties.
  2. From the left pane, click Run.
  3. In the VM Options field, add: -agentlib:TakipiAgent and click OK.

  4. Start the application you want OverOps to monitor.
  5. Test the installation: From the OverOps web application dashboard, click Add Server. From the dialog box, click Next and then click Test Installation.

    When the connection is established, the JVM status is 'Monitoring'.
  6. Test that your application throws exceptions.
 

GlassFish Plugin

To launch the JVM using GlassFish:

  1. Open the GlassFish console (http://localhost:4848).
  2. From the left pane, expand Configurations > server-config and click JVM settings.
  3. From the JVM Options tab, add a new JVM option: -agentlib:TakipiAgent
  4. Click Save.
  5. Restart GlassFish.
  6. Test the installation: From the OverOps web application dashboard, click Add Server. From the dialog box, click Next and then click Test Installation.

    When the connection is established, the JVM status is 'Monitoring'.
  7. Test that your application throws exceptions.

 

JBoss Plugin

To launch the JVM using JBoss:

  1. From NetBeans, open Window > Services.
  2. From the left pane, expand Servers and then right-click Wildfly Application Server and select Properties.
  3. From the Platform tab, in the VM Options, add -agentlib:TakipiAgent

  4. Click Close.
  5. Restart JBoss.
  6. Test the installation: From the OverOps web application dashboard, click Add Server. From the dialog box, click Next and then click Test Installation.

    When the connection is established, the JVM status is 'Monitoring'.
  7. Test that your application throws exceptions.

 

Tomcat Plugin

To launch the JVM using Tomcat:

  1. From NetBeans, open Window > Services.
  2. From the left pane, expand Servers and then right-click Apache Tomcat8.0.3.0 and select Properties.
  3. From the Platform tab, in the VM Options, add -agentlib:TakipiAgent
  4. Click Close.
  5. Restart Tomcat.
  6. Test the installation: From the OverOps web application dashboard, click Add Server. From the dialog box, click Next and then click Test Installation.

    When the connection is established, the JVM status is 'Monitoring'.
  7. Test that your application throws exceptions.
