In some rare cases, OverOps cannot capture the full code and variable data for specific errors. When this happens, the error will show up in your dashboard as a “Flash Hit”. These errors will appear in your dashboard with all the data collected, including the full stack trace, but no code or variables data will be displayed.
Flash Hits are instances where OverOps wasn’t able to capture the entire code and variables state for an error. There are a few possible reasons for this, and if you encounter a Flash Hit, please let us know so we can solve it for you.
In your dashboard, you will see a note next to Flash Hit errors that says “Stack Only”. Once more data on the error becomes available, the variable values will be added to the error and available to view.
Flash Hits are not data-less however. Even when OverOps doesn’t capture the complete code and variables state for an error, it always captures some information. In Flash Hits, you will see the full stack trace for the error, and information about where it happened – JVM, server, machine, etc. In fact, you’ll see everything you normally do minus the code and variables state for the error.
