Introduction

There are a variety of different events. Some events are insignificant or known issues, some were already resolved. OverOps enables you to dismiss events like these from the Dashboard to reduce noise.

Removing Events

When you identify a minor or known issue, there are different ways to remove it from the Dashboard.

To remove an event from the Dashboard:

  • From the Dashboard, hover over the event and click  Delete.
    Or
  • From the Dashboard, click the event, and then from the ARC screen, click  Delete.

When an event is removed, future instances of it will not be visible in the Dashboard.

Auto-Delete Feature

Removing events manually is not always sufficient to reduce the noise. The Auto-Delete function enables you to set rules to automatically delete events according to defined filters.

Note: The Auto-Delete feature cannot be applied to existing Views, since it excludes events that match the filters from displaying them in the Dashboard.

To set Auto-Delete rules, define a new set of filters. The number of rules and the number of filters in each rule is unlimited.

To set an Auto-Delete rule:

  1. From the Dashboard, in the column heading, click  and choose the filters. You can add any number of filters available.
  2. Click Trash.

  3. From the Auto-Delete Settings dialog box, View Settings tab, fill in the Auto-Delete name and description (optional).

  4. Turn on Share this view with teammates to make the rule public within the organization (optional) and click NEXT.

  5. From the Auto-Delete Settings tab, turn off Delete existing events in addition to future events to delete previous instances of this event (optional) and click Save and Finish.

 Marking Events as Resolved

When an event has been resolved and patched to the next release, you can cancel notifications for it.

To stop notifications for an event:

  • From the Dashboard, hover over the event and click
    Or
  • From the Dashboard, click the event and then from the event's ARC screen, click Resolve
OverOps will not display new instances of this event in the Dashboard.
Unlike the Delete function, OverOps sends a notification mail if an event marked Resolved reoccurs after implementing a new build.
